This is like my third time ordering and I will continue for the convenience. The cleanest chitterlings each and every-time. I always go over the chitterlings and I have less than a cup of gunk.
I got 30 lbs on this go round and spoke to Mr Tucker and he is so nice and pleasant on the phone. There is a reason this business has been around for many years!

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Gourmet Food Center for making this experience truly special. Chitterlings are a cornerstone of my family’s holiday tradition. My grandmother was the heart and soul of this tradition, cleaning and cooking around 40 pounds of chitterlings every Christmas—a task that took her three full days to complete. Her dedication was unmatched, and the chitterlings were always perfect. Since her passing eight years ago, I’ve taken on the responsibility of preserving this tradition, carefully cleaning and preparing them just as she did.

Anyone who has cleaned chitterlings knows it’s no small feat. It takes me 2–3 hours to properly clean just 5 pounds, often yielding only 3 pounds of usable chitterlings. Because of this, I was both curious and cautious when I decided to try Gourmet Food Center’s hand-cleaned chitterlings. I purchased two 5-pound buckets (10 pounds total), and I was absolutely blown away by the quality.

When I went through them myself, I was amazed. One bucket was flawless—honestly, some of the cleanest chitterlings I’ve ever seen outside of my grandmother’s meticulous work. The other bucket was also very clean, just slightly less perfect than the first. I could immediately tell that a lot of care had gone into preparing these chitterlings, and it significantly reduced the time I had to spend cleaning them myself. To top it all off, the shipping was incredibly fast, which made the whole process even more convenient and stress-free.

Gourmet Food Center has given me the gift of time and allowed me to focus more on enjoying this cherished family tradition, rather than being overwhelmed by the cleaning process. I am beyond impressed with their dedication to quality, and I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone. This experience was absolutely five stars, and I will definitely be a returning customer. The chitterlings came unthawed, I tried leaving an email with no response. I bought 20 pounds at almost 200. I had to clean them again. Lost over half due to filth. They didn't have a good taste! I'm not pleased at all, especially for the price! I'll do my usual next year!

The chitterlings were delivered on time. They arrived frozen and cleaned. After I thawed them out I went through them twice to check for any debris. I must say they were extremely clean! They were fresh too! The price may be perceived as somewhat steep by certain individuals, yet for others, it's merely the cost associated with loving chitterlings. I’m part of the second group. With GFC, you get 10 lbs. of cleaned chitterlings and you don’t throw away 1/2 the product, nor do you spend hours cleaning them. Well worth it!

I recently bought four pounds of cooked chitterlings hog maws the cups it came in were half full with grease with little chitterlings& maws not enough For two let alone people only two forks full per person not even a good taste check first don't pay half cup of greese they to expensive $180.for three pounds of greese

I called in today 11/30 /24 at 2:15 Pm for them to straightened out the problem they said there's nothing they could do about thr greese it was a packaging problem and they hung up on me oh well that Is good customer care you think

OMG!!! just WOW!! A truly rinse and eat product FINALLY!! I called the company on Friday to confirm they were taking on line orders. I asked when I should expect to receive my order they said Wednesday. Sure enough I got my order on Wednesday. Packaging was excellent. No damage during shipping at all. Product was still ice cold AND frozen. I let my chittlens thaw and I tell you there was NOTHING for me to clean. AMAZING. LOVE IT!! Please tell number 6 A great big THANK YOU!!! for doing what you do. I'm nolonger able to clean chittlens. So I REALLY appreciate you all!! Gotta add your product is better than Aunt B's. Nice size CLEAN chittlens just like I would clean. Just go-ahead and order folks. This product is BETTER than advertised.

08-17-24: Yes, I was not an "actual customer". Order was placed with my proxy/representative to make a purchase from your establishment -- people do this all the time and it is a common practice. Yes, you said you would ship two (2) buckets to me -- but not "several". I then asked you to throw in an extra bucket "for good customer service". I said it wouldn't break the bank. With that being said, you declined the third bucket and indicated you were ending the call and hung up the phone.

I too in the future will not do business with GFC on-line, via a representative or any other method. As far as your comment regarding my reviews on other companies' websites is ludicrous implying I make a habit of posting bad reviews coercing companies for goods and services for a more favorable review or "erasing" review is not true. I believe reviews are considered Free Speech evaluating one's experience for goods or services. Please provide specifics for this allegation.

I assume that you as a businessman expect to receive quality product and accurate amounts from your supplier for your money. If not, I'm sure you would complain. And as an individual, I assume you expect good if not excellent service for products/services from businesses you patronize.

I Googled GFC which had a lot of good reviews. In addition, I received good comments from Mr Carr my representative. I was pumped and solicited my chitterling-eating friends and family to make a purchase along with me. I am so glad they declined this fiasco -- they too would be "Unhappy Campers" and also not "an actual customer"!

08-16-24:

Had a conference call with Bruce Tucker with Gourmet Food Center (GFC) and Richard Carr who made the purchase from GFC. Mr. Carr and I reiterated our concern pertaining to the purchase of seven (7) bags purported to be 5.5 lbs net weight after 10lbs gross weight. We received approximately 20.3lbs after they were thawed and a "whole lot of water". Who wants to pay for water? I know I don't and many others as well.

Mr. Tucker questioned the accuracy of Mr. Carr's scale to which Mr. Carr explained that in essence he had a state of the art food scale. Mr. Tucker explained the GFC process of cleaning chitterlings, draining, weighing and packaging. He also indicated his company ships chitterlings all around the world which implies to me he has a large customer base. He also stated that chitterlings "plump" up after cooking thereby increasing the volume. I was under the impression that "raw" food shrinks (decrease) after cooking.(?). Per Google, "Meat, poultry and fish: These foods usually shrink by about 25% when cooked."

Moving on, Mr. Tucker asked us what can he do to make it right. Mr. Carr deferred to me asking what would satisfy me. Since I asked Mr. Carr to purchase two (2) bags at $140 on my behalf and I did not receive the equivalent of 2 bags @ 5.5 lbs net weight equaling 11 bs, I initially agreed to Mr. Tucker's offer. Again, my 2 bags and Mr. Carr's purchase of 5 bags totalled 20.3 lbs.

Mr. Tucker said he would ship two (2) buckets to me free of charge. I said great and an additional bucket for "good customer service". He said he couldn't do that and in essence said I was being unreasonable. I said that an additional bucket plus the two "wouldn't break the bank". Well, gosh darnit he ended the call.

Warning to new and repeat customers: Weigh your chitterlings before cooking.

08-14-24:

On August 9, 2024 seven (7) bags of chitterlings were purchased from Gourmet Food Center by my friend Mr Richard Carr. Upon arriving home, Mr. Carr weighed his purchase which totalled approximately 20.3 lbs.

My question is: If your Net Weight is 5.5 lbs after cleaning from a Gross Weight of 10 lbs of chitterlings, why did he receive only 20.3 lbs?

Math breakdown per your website:

5.5 lbs net weight x 7 bags = 38.5 lbs

38.5 lbs minus 20.3 lbs = 18.2 lbs

Mr. Carr is missing 18.2 lbs!

Can you explain this discrepancy?

Heat and Serve Chitterlings are cleaned well and taste good but the price is too high for the small amount received. The container is mostly juice and does not even fill up a small bowl. The large container says it is enough for 2-4 people and in reality it is barely enough for 1. I would not reorder.
