I am conflicted writing this review. I agree that the food here is delicious but it must be said — the staff is just not friendly.

I came in for the first time last week and the younger woman with the braid that handled my order was almost militant in her demeanor. No smiles, barely any eye contact, flat affect and tone. Get in get out. Gentleman with the white hair is kind but timid. Okay fine.

I come again yesterday and this time an older woman was present. She takes a looks at me and “what do you want? The menus are over there?” She was louder and less tactful, made me prefer the younger woman. My husband then turns to me and gives a chuckle. We just couldn’t stop laughing watching the way the staff interacted with the customers, the vibe was so dry, off, and awkward. It felt like we were all trying to stand as still as we possibly could to not upset the staff.

Love the food here but not exactly a pleasant experience. If I’m going to spend as much as I do here, I’d like to be treated better. A simple smile or how is your morning going would go a long way.

Olives is the cutest! Wonderful customer service, adorable store, and great sandwiches. The #8 (no mayo) is one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had! I always visit when I’m in town ?

this was my first time ordering from here. I wanted to try a basic sandwich first. I got the Roast Beef Special (Rbs) with turkey added. it was really great. so healthy. very fresh ingredients. I will be ordering again

Update:
Today I ordered a basic turkey sandwich with added Roast beef from Olives. What I received was a sandwich with no turkey and a tiny bit of roast beef. I tried to get a refund via Uber eats. They refunded me $5 for the added beef. 5 dollars when I spent over thirty (sandwich and chips) is not okay.

I'm not sure I'll be ordering again. I can't risk a mistake like that with no recourse. Very disappointed

If you want a sandwich place in Long Beach, this is one of my favorites. The sandwiches are fairly priced, but if you want to buy anything else from here, it’s a little pricey, but you are paying for convenience. The sandwich I took a picture of is the Beach Club, but everything I’ve had is good. ?

The most delicious food! Sandwiches, pastas, chicken tenders with apricot sauce, curated delicatessen items like jams, cheeses, wine, beer, salads and sweets. Friendly staff, super service and food made with love and care. Go once, you'll be back on the regular.

I’ve heard so many good things about Olives and it lived up to the hype. I came for a Sandwich, left with pumpkin pie and some specialty ingredients. Staff is friendly and fast! The way they all work behind the small deli counter making sandwiches is incredible, they didn’t skip a beat. Ordered the #14- Broadway with pesto, fresh tomatoes, extra olive tep & pressed. I’ll be back tomorrow for a different sandwich.

This is my fav sandwich spot in LB. I come here for the best veggie sandwiches! Love their patio too.
