I will never lie that the food is great, but as a postal worker, A MAIL CARRIER. I was treated with the upmost disrespect on January 26th around 10:30AM. I came in to get a sandwich, and only had $7 to my name, and I tried to make it work. I wanted salami, which is displayed clearly on the screen, to which the sandwich guy says they never had salami in the store.

Cool. I switch to turkey egg and cheese. I grab a drink
And cookies and I’m trying to check the balance of my other card but it’s giving me a hard time. A sandwich a soda and cookies was $14 so I said scratch everything just give me the sandwich. After taking everything off but the sandwich I was still at $8 and was so frustrated I said I can’t even afford it forget it.

When I said that? This man got so utterly disrespectful that I wasted his money, which I understand because I usually wouldn’t. But in the city I’m honestly used to someone letting me slide for a dollar or two, even at juice press and Starbucks I get free stuff! So his attitude got

For him to proceed to follow me out my truck and take pictures of it as if I did anything wrong, o just want to make it very clear false reports on a federal worker is definitely a federal offense. All I wanted was to eat to be honest. I work hard and I still

Parent but I try. This type of behavior is unacceptable and I truly don’t care if he owns the space , that just makes it worst.

No lie would never come back after witnessing how the guy treated the postal worker. He walked to her job truck to take pictures all because she couldn’t give the full price of the sandwich and decided not to take it. It’s nothing to give it to her for free and tell her next time she pay. It’s going to a waste any way.

Worst sandwich I’ve ever had. Meat was burnt and they put no toppings or even condiments on my sandwich. Please listen to the other reviews noting horrible quality food and service.

Best sandwich I have had in years! I used to go to another deli that will not be named because there was nothing else in the area. So glad that they opened up! The people here love what they do and it shows.

Visiting Manhattan for a week from Los Angeles and getting a Chopped Cheese was a primary mission. I found Gourmet Square on Google maps. Absolutely fantastic 5 star sandwich. Would recommend to anyone visiting the Upper West Side. Good job, y’all. Really super delicious!!

Got my order wrong. Ordered honey turkey, pepper jack cheese, hot/toasted and instead got plain turkey, cheese that resembled Kraft American singles, and a completely cold sandwich. Pretty sure I was also charged for the more expensive combo sandwich...Was too hungry to be that annoyed but this made me really sad.

Store sells expired food. After paying for the chips in September 2022, I noticed they were expired as of April 2022. I immediately asked for a refund and the store owner refused to issue me a refund and told me to find another bag of chips. However, all of the Hal’s chips bags were expired as of April 2022. He put the expired bag of chips back on the shelf and told me to never return to his store and refused to removed the products from the shelves, arguing that they were not expired. This place is a health hazard. Avoid at all costs.
